Meridian Credit Union published terms for a new-business chequing offer available from March 16 through August 31, 2026. It provides a $400 cash bonus and waives the eligible account's monthly package fee for its first 12 months.
The business must operate in Ontario and be a sole proprietorship or single-owner corporation. The person opening it must be a Canadian resident aged 19 or older, and the business cannot have held a Meridian Business Membership as of December 31, 2025. Only e-Prosper or Prosper Chequing opened online qualifies; branch openings do not.
The member must deposit at least $1,500 within 30 days and maintain that balance for six months. Meridian says it pays the bonus two to four weeks after all conditions are met, provided the account remains open, active and in good standing.
Other service charges continue during the package-fee waiver, and the normal package fee resumes after 12 months. The cash incentive is limited to one per business and cannot be combined with another cash incentive. Meridian's account page also excludes several business types from account opening, including cannabis, gambling, payday-lending and virtual-currency businesses.
