Interactive Brokers announced broader Model Context Protocol connectivity, allowing clients to authorize compatible AI tools to access selected account information. The integration can support portfolio analysis, investment research, risk monitoring and draft trade instructions, and the Canadian product page confirms it is available through Interactive Brokers Canada.
The connection does not allow an AI tool to submit an order automatically. A client must review each instruction and choose whether to convert it into an order on an Interactive Brokers platform. The client also controls what account information the tool may access.
Interactive Brokers warns that information and instructions produced by an independently chosen AI service may be inaccurate or incomplete and are not investment advice. Clients remain responsible for checking the output and every proposed instruction before deciding whether to place a trade.
