official update

This October, Desjardins will take another step forward in modernizing its credit card management system

Desjardins says it will move credit cards to a modernized management system in October 2026. Cards, payments, and fraud monitoring are expected to keep working during the migration, but some management functions may be temporarily limited, including credit-limit requests, PIN changes, and BONUSDOLLARS redemptions.

Existing joint cardholders do not need to act to retain joint ownership. Desjardins distinguishes that arrangement, where both cardholders remain responsible for the debt and some changes need both approvals, from an account with an authorized user, where only the primary cardholder is responsible. The new system is expected to let a primary cardholder grant an authorized user access to selected account information beginning in October.

Desjardins also says affected cardholders will receive notices about changes to their agreements. Some capabilities discussed in the announcement, such as self-service transaction disputes and adding a replacement card to a digital wallet before the physical card arrives, are described as future possibilities rather than features guaranteed at the October migration.
